One of the contestants at the Miss Universe Nigeria 2026 pageant, Danielle Adewusi, who represented Lagos State, has emerged as the winner of the competition.
Adewusi defeated 19 other contestants at the grand finale held on Sunday at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, after weeks of camp activities, advocacy, talent presentations and runway challenges.
The Lagos representative impressed the judges during the final question-and-answer session with her confidence, intelligence, elegance and focus on social impact.
Her victory means Adewusi will represent Nigeria at the 75th Miss Universe festival scheduled to hold on November 24 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
She is also expected to take her “Scrub the Stigma” women’s health advocacy to the international stage.
Anita Osikhena of Edo State emerged as the first runner-up, while Myya Jones of Cross River finished as the second runner-up. Oluwafunmibi Ajaja of Ekiti State and Melissa Toghanro of Delta State completed the top five.
Jones earned an automatic place in the top five after receiving the highest number of fast-track votes, while Toghanro will represent Nigeria at Miss Supranational.
Osikhena also won the Pitch Your Dream category, receiving N1 million from Yolo Island and a two-night all-expenses-paid stay at Yolo Island Beach Resort. She also won the Best Advocacy Project award, which came with N500,000 and a one-year supply of Golden Penny products.
Guy Murray-Bruce crowned Adewusi at the conclusion of the pageant.
